So. We've found a strong recipe. It has pecan nuts in (I'm not a fan of nuts generally, but needs must) and produces the most unctuous, gooey brownie I can imagine. Surely this sort of thing is illegal? Maybe that can be a tagline for the product - "The Most Fun You Can Have In A Tray"...

Maybe no. Got a naming day party coming up for my latest niece - barely a month old and already inciting cake. She's definitely got Lydon genes in there somewhere... Talked to my sister about seeing if me and Emma can provide a few of our experimental flavours for a bit of a test swim in friendly waters. Seems to be quite effective, taking the basic recipe and substituting/deleting ingredients as appropriate. We've looked, amongst others, at a very dark chocolate one, one with an orange flavour, and a rather wicked little number which has some Mary-Berry-Millionaire's-Shortbread caramel amongst it. Wowzers... We've also been thinking about names for all these flavours; don't want to fall into a chintzy trap and use the word "delicious" or "luxury" overly (both of which rather invite criticism/hubris!), but they deserve to have their own identities. It's a good way of defining a range under a brand. We could just call them "Dark Chocolate", "Orange", and so on, but... well... it doesn't sound like me, much, that, does it?
